Founded by Manfred Plugge and Theo Runig, the company focuses on the production of compression and extension springs.
We manufacture over 7,000 different products for 750 customers across Europe. The success of our company is based on highly technological and customized production. We primarily rely on in-house developed and patented equipment. Our consistently high investment rate forms the foundation for a modern and efficient machinery fleet.
We focus on customized solutions.
All tools required for the production of our products (stamping, bending, edging, etc.) are exclusively developed and manufactured in-house. This enables us to protect our expertise and make it available solely to our customers. Additionally, our toolmaking department is responsible not only for production but also for maintenance and repair of these tools. This ensures that we can respond quickly at any time and guarantee high availability of our equipment.
A significant portion of our product portfolio requires special solutions that cannot be economically produced with standard market machines. Our in-house plant engineering develops innovative solutions and implements them through the construction of powerful special-purpose machines — from the initial concept and complete design to manufacturing, commissioning, and achieving series production readiness.
Our CAD system incorporates the most advanced design methodologies and forms the foundation for the successful work of our tool and plant engineering departments. In joint development projects with our customers, the use of our CAD system has become an essential and integral part of daily operations.
A functional quality management system does not run by itself. Quality production is practiced daily by our employees. Monitoring is carried out by trained specialists whose work is optimally supported by state-of-the-art testing and measuring equipment.
In addition to established testing and measurement methods, we also implement:

Logistics concepts based on EDI, KANBAN, call-off, and delivery schedules are standard market requirements. An indispensable prerequisite for this, in addition to well-organized production, is the provision of adequate storage space. thema recognized this development and expanded its logistics area by an impressive 4,000 m² in 2013 through the construction of a new, state-of-the-art industrial building. The total area for storage, shipping, and order picking now amounts to 5,800 m².
